Can someone please tell me what is up with this thing? I guess down is more like it. 7 month old 125 gallon tank. I purchased this on Friday and it won't stand up, but it is open. My calcium is high bit everything else is fine, even my nitrates are 0. Any ideas?

Oh Sarcophyton do that all the time, give it some more flow and be patient, the more you mess with them the more they close and and refuse to upright.

3rd grumpiest coral ever. I'm pretty sure I killed mine. 5 times in 3 years

I left it be for a few days hoping it would pop up.

Sarcophyton are just weird that way. I have had them stay closed up and slumped for weeks and learned disturbing them just prolongs their opening and standing up. Typically if they are wilted more flow is of assistance. Be patient and keep water chemistry in check and the coral should come around.

Ugh I'm having such a hard time with this tank! I didn't realize it was grumpy, not that it would have deterred me from getting it anyway.
hahah. I feel ya. I nearly gave myself a tumor from banging my head on floor from the current 55dt. Learned SOOOO much though.
in about 4 months itll prob settle. Ive read its only about 3 more years till it reaches its fullest potential.
Mine is 12mo.

Hands in tank syndrome. I may be familar with that.

Exactly, it's hard habit to break. Sometimes less is more.

Haha I just moved everything around (hammer, frogspawn, some zoas and my bubble coral) in my 46 gal thinking everyone would be "happier" or ticked off, not sure yet.

I hope your toadstool is re-viagra-ated by now, but just a little something you can try is moving it slowly up closer to the lights, mine loves the light....it does take weeks sometime to see substantial results.

Bahahaha!!!! It's hanging to the side again but it's still open so I guess that's good.
