Woke up to find my Foxface dying :/ i'm trying to do everything correct and have him in the quarantine tank. He has been there along with two clowns that I got at the same time for about six weeks. I started copper treatment a week ago after I saw signs of Ich on the clowns. Copper level is only a 0.3. Last I checked water parameters were fine - I didn't have a chance to check this morning so I did a water change instead... 5 gallons in a 29 gallon quarantine. He was eating fine yesterday - not eating this morning.
The clowns are still happy and eating. They have gone through exactly the same protocol as the Foxface. I feel like since I've had him for so long that it's definitely my fault but I can't figure out why. He staying upright but going wherever the current takes him and brown.
I observed them for a week, treated for internal parasites with PraziPro the second week, then observed until I noticed the Ich and began treatment.
Any ideas on what I could be doing wrong that's causing this? I'm fairly new to the hobby. I've only been keeping saltwater for a year and only used quarantine protocol twice now after a bad outbreak of Ich in my tank. The DT ran fallow for 11 weeks and has since been running perfectly.
Also, are there any ideas on how to save this fish? I'm under the impression that it's pretty hard to bring them back from the brink of death but I would like to try.

Are you doing daily water changes and daily copper measurements?
Very important while dosing copper as ammonia doesn't read properly on most test kits...and can easily build up...

Sorry to hear about your fish. Sometimes it happens despite our best efforts.

+1, sucks when it happens but it happens to the best of us. I've had fish just die for no reason it seams like. Keep ya head up. You did all you could.

I was not doing daily water changes, but was doing daily copper readings. How big of a water change should I be doing daily? We usually do 10% weekly unless there is an issue.
I would like to add another down the road. It will have to wait until my clowns are out of quarantine. I also think instead of the LFS we will do something like LA's Diver's Den... It seems like EVERY fish we've picked up from the LFS has had major issues...Ich (they say to "let it run it's course, every system has Ich, and the strong will survive")...internal parasites... All but 2 Clowns and a Hoeven's Wrasse we've had in our 29 DT for a year has died. Oh and the 2 clowns still in QT...I'm hoping with careful attention they will be ok.
For clarification, I have 2 DT's...75g and 29g. The wrasse and 2 clowns are in the 29g. Foxface and clowns in QT were/are headed for the 75g.
