What am I looking at?

I'm not sure what this tan, feathery looking growth is. It moves in the current and blows off with a turkey baster. Can anyone ID it?

Hmmm. Thanks for the replies. I'd have thought a sponge would be stiffer. It looks like detritus to me, like dust fluff.
