What am i looking at?

When moving my favia frag I noticed a slimy substance on the frag.. any ideas?

How did you move the frag? Did you pull it out of the water? If so then it may have just slimed up due to being out of the water. If not then it could be almost anything, but looking at the picture I don't see anything to worry about.

looks like a sponge on one side of the base.
