Try bumping your alk up to 9 over time, increase feeding a bit to get some nutrients detectable, and more flow than you think you need. I generally keep alk higher than the 8 range because it gives you a insurance policy. With sps, one drop is all it takes to start the death march, and the effects are sometimes a little delayed...so your alk might be fine now, but a couple of days it was not, and you are now seeing the effects. I really got over the sps hump when I started checking alk every three days...it made my life with acros so much easier. Hope this helps some

I thought it was the carbon a run 24/7. I don't know I'm stumped. I was not checking it as often as I should but since I started kalk it's been consistant...

I honestly believe it is the single most important prameter for acros!! Just my humble opinion, but, nothing will make you pay more than an alk swing

Don't get discouraged, everyone has a bad day with sps at some point...in a weird way, that's what makes them fun. They keep you on your toes

I guess I'm overdue for some bad luck. I think the ghosts in our house is jacking with stuff. Paranormal level is off the chart. Last night it pulled the return hose (2 foot on the inside wall) out of my sump and drained 5 gallons of water on my floor.

That sounds horrible...I have def. had my fair share of horror stories

I'm using all salifert... on the low end it can be indistinguishable. Im increasing the feeding though.

If your lps in the tank are thriving, and all your other corals, it may not necessarily be a nutrient problem.

When the coral is turning white from the bottom up its usually a bug eating them

I work at a LFS part time for fun and when they start turning white from the bottom is almost 100% bugs
