So I'm just working over here...anxiously awaiting my new box of corals from the WWC live sale/ebay auctions, and was thinking to myself what an amazing and super interesting hobby we have here.
If you really take a second to think about how differently we all do things in this hobby and are all (usually) able to achieve success with it. We all have our ups and our downs with our tanks and systems for sure. But for me I run a fairly basic 29 gallon bioCube, while I've seen another member on here that has a new cube that is still in the infancy of the tank, but is hooked up to a Radion G4, and has a full blown Apex 2016 system rocking and rolling.
Some dose, test, do daily automated water changes, others are running ultra low mantenance with Triton and not doing any water changes at all, and then people like me that do minor manual weekly dosing, water changes about every 2-3 weeks now, and am able to sit back and watch my tank grow.
As Adam from @Battlecorals mentioned, that first year a new frag, or basically a brand new tank if you will is arduous and painstakingly slow at times while you get everything to work together and settle in, but I remember from years back when I was in this hobby....usually once your'e in it for awhile, thinks just start taking off.
Here's to our community here, the ones that have super crazy complex systems that I drool over and can't wait to have one myself, and to those that run super simple tanks that are beautiful and amazing in their own rights. To the DIYer, and the ones that have people come and install their systems for them b/c they might not be that handy...at the end of the day we all love and appreciate our own slices of the ocean, and we're all HERE to help each other be successful in their own right!
