I got a diamond goby a few days ago and it's done a fantastic job at moving the sand.

Sadly now I notice a lot of debris in the tank, also I made a huge tank maintenance and released all the crap from the sand.

So I have this semi gray paste in the sand or floating around.

Is there an animal that could take care of this?

See the pics for reference.

Thanks in advance.

That is literally detritus, fish poop, coral waste, decayed foods and whatnot. There are things that consume it, but poop it right back out. Best thing to do is to siphon it out during your waterchanges. Cucumbers i believe are the only things that really do much with that gunk but if they die they can poison your tank so keep that in mind.

Well... I have never syphoned my tank. So now there is so much crap I don't know what to do with it.

I thought that ditritus would degrade to a point where you wouldn't see it.

So there is no way to efficiently clean other than syphon, media and filters?

Thanks

need more flow so it doesn’t settle, and can be removed in filter socks or filters
