I would off thought a fake frag is something man made that looks like a coral frag like the guys on that TV show " tanked" put it theur customers tanks made out off epoxy and the likes or could even be plastic or any material that's man made, would ovbiously have be reef safe and not leach anything into your water.
Could get from amazon or anywhere online that sells them,or your lfs.

Or have I wrote this reply and wasted my time as I'm completely off the mark as starting to doubt myself that misunderstood the question but idk lol

Those are 2 faced Frags .
just like two faced tape ( double sided tape )

I am guessing that you see them posted on Facebook and other sites like that. They call them Fake Frags because you are not allowed to sell live animals.
