I was looking at the A360X pendants but can't locate basic specs such as par/number of LEDs/type of LEDS etc (except a spectrum descriptor and a power rating of 90 watts). I currently have 2 Giesemann Verrve's rated at 180 watts/Par 1250 max each which I want to replace being plagued by connectivity issues between the fixtures.

1) Compared to my Verrve's how does the light output of the A360X compare with only 90 watts of power consumption? Are two A360X pendants enough for my mixed coral 120 gal - 24"x48"x24" tank? Three pendants are not practical secondary to light obstruction from the plastic brace running through the center of the tank.

Thanks.

I hope you get your answer. I switched from 2 vervve's to 2 360x's, and for what I ran on 35% on the vervve's I run on 60 to match it with the 360x's. I don't have any sps though so sorry I'm not more helpful. I only have lps and softy's

Thanks for the input. It's frustrating being asked to make purchase decisions with minimal published specs. Being forced to extrapolate par values from power consumption specs is not ideal.

The BRS videos posted above are very good information - so I won't go in depth repeating what they have said.

The reason we don't publish a specific chip makeup is because we don't approach LEDs the same way as many other manufacturers. Since we build our own LED chips, we can use a mix of chips, and we also coat some of the chips with a phosphor, which slightly shifts their wavelength output so it can more completely fill in the spectral curve that coral need for their health, and mix the color better for our viewing purposes.

Your ultimate question - would 2 A360X work for your tank - is a yes. The only time we see people adding a 3rd to a 4' tank is if they're going full SPS dominant top to bottom. For a mixed reef, 2 lights is good. I would start around 75% intensity and run a 5-7 day acclimation mode to make sure the coral respond well to the light change.
