I have a rock wall on the back of my tank that I was planning on covering in encrusting montis. Unfortunately it looks like the top half at least is receiving too much light (I’m really shocked by that). What are some good high light encrusting corals? I also have some zoas/palys on the wall so really anything that keeps a pretty low profile could work.

Montiporas are what I was going to try to focus on. Right now I have a rainbow monti that is growing well but is pale compared to my other tank. I thought that was due to too much light. I have added ASD master Phoenix, RR tropic thunder, and mystic sunset and none of those seem particularly happy
I have a large section of Sunset monti directed under a 400 watt radium, it gets blue highlights in some areas probably because of the super high par.
A great tip for growing beautiful Montipora, try raising and keeping your Magnesium level at 1450. My Montipora went from eh to OMG.
Rainbows can take sometime to fully color up. What was your acclimation process? And what are your water parameters? Are they steady that way. Ime montis have slightly less demands for stability to acros. But can after acclimated be blasted with light and flow.
Rainbow was moved from my other tank to this one. It has grown very well but lost color. Alk is steady around 9. Nitrates and phosphate very low. My acros are growing better and looking better than my montis currently which is a problem I’m not used to lol
