What are the best LFS around?

@NYAquatic do you carry coral and if so do you allow pick ups? I’m in White Plains so not far from Yonkers

Sorry
No corals
Not our thing

But local pickups are welcome
Same prices and guarantees as website

Always best to call text or email first as we’re not always in the warehouse

In Kansas City I would have to say Aquariums Wholesale. I've known Patrick (owner) for almost 20 yrs when he was selling out of his home in Kansas City proper. Nobody grows a business like he has unless it is first rate. Great prices, excellent staff who will work with you.

I live in Oak Forest, IL and the store to go to is Aquatica in Tinley Park. I run a 180 gal mixed reef tank and I have purchased almost all my gear there including my Trident. Mario, the owner and his staff are very knowledgeable and helpful. They have the greatest selection of fish and corals on the south side and a surprisingly large amount of dry goods.

I'm from downstate near Bloomington I will be taking a trip to this place for sure, thanks.

Nah, thought they were online only? They allow walk-in without appointments?

They are mostly online but if you call in advance and ask if they have any specific coral they will allow you to come to the back room to see what they have. Apparently they only post 1/20 of their corals total on their webpage, so there are always certain corals in stock even if there not on the web :o. I wanted to buy a frogspwan and didnt see one on their page so they showed me there 25+ frogspawn colonies and allowed me to decide if i wasnted to buy it in store. They are nice people and accommodating, not a "true" walk in store per se but if you want something and ask theyll try to get it to you.

In phoenix we literally have like 7-8 saltwater LFS within a 30 mile radius, it's amazing lol.

WWC in Orlando, of course.
Bioreef in Jacksonville is good, too.

The best in MN is Saltwater Empire in Minneapolis. Other than that, there aren't too many in northern MN!
Saltwater Empire no longer exists.

New Wave Aquaria is by far the best saltwater aquarium shop in the Twin Cities metro area. Nobody comes close with coral inventory or QT procedures. They also keep all their tanks and retail area clean which seems to be hard to find in MN.

I guess I haven't gone down that way in about 2 years! That's crazy! I guess I'll have to check out new wave.

in the inland empire area, i'm a big fan of Pisces Exotics Pets in Rancho Cucamonga. the owner is a really nice guy that doesn't oversell stuff. i've never seen a sick fish in his store, either. coral selection is nice, but not overly large

american reefs (sorta kinda a fish store) in corona is nice too, the owner is a cool guy. coral selection is mostly zoas/acans, though. i did get a sweet space invader and orange fungia there, though. i think he's moving to a larger location so hopefully he expands the coral selection a bit

i don't have much positive to say about the rest of the stores around here

What is the best lfs with best prices in metro Detroit area?

In Seattle we have
Barrier Reef in Renton
Sea King and saltwater city in Bellevue.. all great LFS and owners!
In the Bay Area, Neptune Aquatics

We have one store here in South Mississippi where I live ,,, as far as I know ,, may very well be the only one in the state ,, kinda hard to believe ,, but I have never heard about them if there are others, just has to be more I would think ,, an hour drive away to either Mobile Alabama or the other direction to Louisiana ,, are other stores ,, there are several really good ,, top of the line stores over in Louisiana ,,

The store in Mississippi " Just Fish " had their grand opening Tuesday in their new store .. I guess it was their Grand opening ,, it was the first day of being in the new store. They went from being a very small store to a much larger store ,, the owner & his son are very knowledgeable ,, everyone and their brother shops at this store ,, it can get packed ,, especially on the days corals and fish shipments arrive ,, its no holds bared on coral day lol they go quick ,, The store also has a web site where everyone kinda hangs out ,, this is really nice ,, you can ask questions ,, stay in touch with other reefers in the area ,,
