What are the best things to remember when keeping zoas?

One thing that comes to mind Is some like high light and sone low light so when get them start off low and slowly move up to aclimitise them to the light and if start reaching up and have high stalks then move higher,if shrivel up or close to rocks leave where they are or move back lower if moved up before.
Alot off people have zoas/palys on a seperare rock island as some can grow really fast and if on rockwork then can quickly take over then need find way to slow them down or frag them off tje rocks so have that in mind.
If going for a little zoa garden ,think about placement off the different colours and how they will grow into each other ( could use a colour wheel and put opposite colours together ) need research which zoas grow fastest/ slowest and bare this in mind when placement.
Cant speak about zoas/palys without mentioning palytoxin poisoning, some have alot,some a bit,and some none ( research which ones before buy) but seems most people that have trouble and hospital admissions. Boiled the rocks with them on,or didn't wear adequate eye protection, gloves as cutting into them,or one story left outside on rocks so thought was dead then did something and ended up in hospital .
Also my experience with small zoa colonies ,get alot off hitch hikers off all kinds mixed inbetween the polpys, so a coral dip and even put all corals in a seperate observational tank first to check before add to dt.
But I think zoas/palys are cool and look great. I added another little Rock epoxied inbetween my 2 main Rock structures to create a bridge and if start growing out off control then can hopefully remove that rock they on ( 4 different kinds off zoas) and not let them get on main rockwork and create a head ache for me ha ha,but so far 8 months and all ok and still on same rock.

They are known for containing palytoxin. Many zoas can potentially have palytoxin, but those are known to contain that.
Read about palytoxin, it is a matter of survival. But basically never touch zoas with bare hands and after touch mouth or* eyes, never boil them, never eat them.
