So I’m looking into getting a xr15 pro gen4 an wanted to know the settings and modes and all the differences and how can you change the modes?

You can change pretty much everything except when the fan runs via Ecosmart Live. There are lunar phases, traveling sunrise/sunset, feed mode, view mode, and acclimation mode where it reduces lighting intensity for a chosen period. I'm sure I'm missing some things. You can also download lighting schedules from ETM's Coralabs presets or schedules that others have created such as Project Seaglass.

The Reeflink is handy to have, but not necessary. You'd just have to hook up a USB cable to it to make any changes.

I think so. Worth every penny

They are a great light, but "worth it" is difficult to quantify. You're talking $500-600 for the XR-15, RMS, and maybe Reeflink for a light. If what you have is working, I'd be hard pressed to change it.

The 4s have two extra led channels, different location of fan, thinner, and I think different lens, and leds. I had the 3s and they works perfectly also.
I used reefbrites xo and they worked just kept the tank blue. Depending on what u want.

I've got two Gen 4 30's on my RS 525. I use the ReefLink to program them. I tried a few other light systems and ended up liking the Radions best.

IMHO, a lot of it is personal preference though, the look of the fixture over the tank, the light coverage, programming, etc.

Love mine. Once you get a schedule down you can basically eliminate lighting as a variable if things go crazy in your tank.

The AB+ schedule is a proven winner. I run it at 70% and see great growth.
