I read somewhere that bubble producing algae are dinos and diatom dont produce gas bubble. It looks to me like diatoms, a sign of a freshly cycling aquarium. Don't stress, this is totally normal. After time as you do your water changes you can syphon it out, eventually this will go away all on it's own. There's a lot more weird and different stuff coming! don't be discouraged a good majority of us have gone through this stage once. And there's a few more stages for you to go.
Things that will help:
Increase water flow
Reduce lighting as they are photosynthetic or time light is on.
add a clean up crew.
Use chemical/mechanical filtration like filter socks to remove unwanted particulates, activated carbon to help remove excess nutrients in the water.
Thanks ! I have 2 torch coral in rn so can’t turn my light off totallyDinoflagellates and Diatoms have a easy test to tell between, get a flashlight and point it at the algae, if it glows a blue or green colour then it's probably Dinoflagellates, if it doesn't fluoresce it's probably Diatoms. Cyano is pretty easy to spot because it's pretty bright in colour, has a slimier texture, usually grows in poor water quality. If you want to keep the lights on, get some clean up crew, get some matrix or marinepure bricks to house beneficial bacteria, then add some beneficial bacteria from Dr. Timms and some Aqua Forest Life Source Mud, just to kick off the microbiology of the aquarium.
Remember these things aren't necessary, eventually your tank will stabilize by itself but this will speed up the process.
I personally would just turn off the light for now and wait it out, maybe a week or two, turn the lights back on and see where that gets you, on top of doing a weekly water change and removing as much as you can. If it comes back. lights out again. It would be a more affordable approach for me anyway, especially on an unstocked tank.
