What are these 'coral bits'?

I have seen these round bits that looks like they've come from a coral.
I've seen quite a few lately, and my first thought was that it was the tip from a torch.
However, I've seen several of them and cannot see any missing tips on my torch.

Any ideas?
 
Are you sure the green tipped torch still has all it's tips? The tentacles with missing tips will still look healthy, just with a stump instead of a tip

Well, hard to say for sure. But haven't been able to spot any missing tips.
 
Update:

Although, I still cannot see any missing tips on my torch, it might still be 'tips'.

Some time ago I had some white bugs on the torch, which I got rid of without much effort.
However, the bugs did some damage which resultet in new 'tips' forming on the torch. I guess some defence from bite damages.
I believe the 'tips' are from these 'wounds', that has healed over time.

This piece clearly still have and extra 'tip':
