I do not think they are mushrooms as I started with dry rock

Looks like mushrooms to me. They can have a large variety of colors and textures.

weird as I have never purchased a mushroom and all rock was dry rock man made that I put in the tank...

Have you purchased other corals? Small one could have easily hitchhiked on a plug.

Heck yes. I don’t want mushrooms so these are for sale now at local swap. Now to figure out how to get them off overflow and onto live rock
