See my Xenia? Looking nice and healthy. Added him about 3 months ago and he is growing very nicely on his own island.

But wait, look closer. There are a couple of strange looking things at the base and on the plug. Please help me ID these things.

First, there is the little pecker looking thing on the plug on the right.
Then, there is the pink thing at the base of the Xenia. What is that?

New growth it looks like. He’s spreading his base and adding more branches. Beautiful Xenia be carful they will detach themselves from the base and land wherever they want.

The little “pecker looking thing” :) is a vermetid snail. They’re harmless but will send out little webs that annoy your corals. I’d pull the plug out & scrape it off if you can.
The pink thing looks like a bleached or very young mushroom! Nice bonus!

Great description for a vermetid. :) I’d remove the Rhodactis. He could sting the Xenia. Place him elsewhere in the tank.
