I have never seen this in my 15+ yrs reefing.
Sorry the pics are rough, they are in my cylinder tank around the back and hard to get a clear pic.
They are pink fuzzy spikes that move in the water.
They are attached to the rock and spread out across the rock with giant roots that look just like them. They are 2-4" long each spike.
Ive got answers that its a type of sponge and answers that its a type of macro algae. They are in a lower light section of the tank, tank has been up for almost 3 years, no idea where they came from.
They obviously don't sting, the clowns play in them!
