I have these tiny red filamentous hairs growing on my live rock.
They are so small I have to use a magnifying glass to see them.
They are all less than 2mm long.
I first noticed them when I saw little patches of them fluorescing under actinic blue light.

Any thoughts?

please post a picture.

but it sounds like red or purple turf algae... really annoying stuff, not many critters will eat it.

I'm not sure how I'd be able to get a photo of it it's so small and all I have is my phone.
I have considered it with some strain of macroalgae because I have a trochus snail with blaze orange coralline algae on him and I have heard that is super rare. But this stuff appears more bright red.
