Found this tentacle-like thing on the base of my zoanthid. It waves around at night. I also found another one in another area of the tank, so it might have reproduced. It’s not harmful, but i’ve never seen this before. Anyone know what it is?

I also found this little thing in my other reef. Very tiny. About 2mm. It looks a bit like a jellyfish from the top.

Unsure if the video posted, so here’s a picture.

The videos are digitate hydroids and the one on your glass is a medusa hydroid.

Also as a side note, i tried to disturb the jellyfish thing to see how it would react, and it moved to another location on the glass

Ahh are any of them a risk to keep around?
The digitate hydroids can sting the zoas and irritate them pretty good. You can try plucking them with tweezers but unless you get the entire thing it may grown back. The medusa will eventually let go from the glass and will most likely get caught in your filter or skimmer.

digitate hydroids. If you see one there will be more...lots more. I am dealing with them right now. Some people say that peppermint shrimp might eat them but mine aren't keeping up with the infestation. I am going to try the laser trick.
