Anyone know what these white things are? Are they good or bad? And if bad, are they the reason all my cheato died and dissolved?

Shoulder Deep in Saltwater.......Again
Hard to tell in the picture but my guess is pineapple sponge. If thats what they are it's good. They help filter water and are one small part of a healthy ecosystem.

Ok thanks. Wonder where they came from. I haven’t put anything in my system that hadn’t been through a thorough 76 day fishless QT and using coral dip. They are everywhere in my sump.
