Little yellow tang is struggling to swim and I am not sure if he's sick or is the result of the purple tang's attacks. Piture shows some white marks in its face. Can anyone tell me if this is a desease? infection maybe? I have a chocolate mimic tang swiming and eating strong but with similar marks.

If I had to guess it is stress related. Yellow and Purple tangs can struggle to get along if not added at the same time and at the same size. Normally it ends with the new one or smallest one being killed.

@4FordFamily would you agree?

The wording fins remind me of fluke damage... I think you have several issues at play.

1) tang damage from the existing tang as I agree purple and yellow can fight if the only two tangs and one was established but that damage looks more like flukes eating fins (or in addition to)
2) flukes likely
3) HLLE the face looks to be badly afflicted by HLLE —- how soon did this damage come about?

Mostly agree!

Well, poor thing died already :(. The PT had no mercy on him. He already defeated a yellow eyed tang before this one. I really thought this YT would survive since it was a very active swimmer and was eating very well. For sure YT was smaller and the PT took advantage. Anyway, these guys went through a month of CP and a couple of rounds of General Cure so I don't think it was the fluke so I am thinking that HLLE is the best suspect :(

Looks like it had damage that was more than immense bullying and HLLE to me. Sorry for your loss, but when I saw the photo I knew it was done for...

So how many tangs do you have now and what size tank?

Adding one zebrasoma to an existing established zebrasoma will not end well, particularly if the established one is a purple tang.

Here’s an article I wrote on tang aggression, perhaps you’ll find it useful:
