Do they want more light ? They are magicians, placed about mid-tank

I don't know about the "too much light" theory. I've had some of my Toxic Lava PE's do that when I attempt to feed them and they don't want to be fed. My armor of gods will do it during the same time too.

i have some corals that were doing that also but then i lowered them in my tank and they returned to normal it might be the temp or water problem but i think its the light

Temp or water problem sounds more likely.

I'd try giving them less light and see what they do. It could be for another reason, but most often when I see a polyp doing that they're in a lower area of light.

They are the only ones doing that. I don't try to feed them so, not sure about that one. I did just place them there last week when I upgraded to a bigger tank. Today was the first time I have seen them do that. I have seen other zoas do that before but never knew why. Before their current position they were on a frag plate about 8 inches from the light. Now they are mid tank about 14 inches away from the light. Mabye they are just mad today. :choler: Can zoas have mood swings ?:neutral::sad:lol. Guess I'll move them lower and see. They were fine all week. I took this pic 2 days ago.

I do think that zoas have moodswings...sometimes mine will close up for a couple days..and then be wide open for months.

Well I didn't feed today so I would go with removing waste. Should I still move them or wait and see ?

I've kept mine in the same spot even after they do it. If it is a light issue, coral can usually adjust/acclimate to the higher/brighter light over time.
