So, I've been showing these to everyone in the hobby I know and no has an answer, so I turn to you! The R2R forum gods. Please, tell me what these things are.
A little background, they are ONLY growing on my snails and have been for the past 4 or so months. The only things that have BEEN in the tank is crabs, snails, a mini carpet and some zoas. They don't seem to be harming anything but I am finally at a point where I can add fish to my tank (long story regarding a consistently delayed house fumigation) but I would like to identify what this is before adding little fishy friends. All my water parameters are within normal and acceptable limits and for lighting I'm running a Kessil on my 29g cube.
The organism in question looks like a mushroom, literally a fungi not coral, with a very faint little fibers plume on the top that you can kind of make out in the second photo and are about 1-2 inches. There is a secondary shelf just under the primary cap that you can also see in the second photo.
Cheers and Thanks!

That is the most hilarious snail hitchhiker. It looks like it's pulling balloons along for the ride.
