I found these in my sump initially. I was pulling out some hair algae that's growing in my refugium (can't grow macro to save my life, but the gha grows plenty) and noticed some on my skimmer. Then I found one on the front glass of my refugium. Did a thorough inspection of the tank and didn't find any in there but when I looked down into my overflow they were everywhere. I peeled back the black sheet I had put over the glass around the overflow to hide the pipes and was shocked by how many are in there.

What are these things?

Hi!

Pineapple Sponge. They are good guys.

Well that's a relief. I was trying to figure out how to get them all out.

If they do grow anywhere you don’t want them it’s very easy to just pluck them out. :)

So far they're only in my sump and overflow. As long as they don't start doing that in the main tank they can do their spongey thing.

I find they aren’t keen on too much light so when they do grow in the display they grow in the shadowy areas
