See the Black specs. They started in a small area now they are trying to cover the rock. If I look close I can see it swaying back and forth. Any idea what this is? Should I be concerned? I see it popping up on other rocks as well.

Could be a very dark colored brown algae. Peramiters? How old is the tank? Dry rook looks pretty new. Maybee try a big water change.

It would help to provide parameter readings & some background on the tank. Just based on the op info & picture, I would agree with crabcore on the rock looking new & assuming it’s a pretty fresh system, might be just a dark algae that can be caused by a number of things from poor water circulation, O2 level, alk, ph, lighting, etc. the reason why parameters & some background on the tank would be helpful. Could just be diatoms, a natural occurrence in a fresh system. Good luck.

Thank has only been up since April. I have attached my icp as of 2 months ago. I've been using poly filters to work the aluminum since the report. I change 40 gallons a week religiously. Its 190 gallons total volume.

I got something like you have I started my 40g a few months ago have corals, fish and they are all happy healthy. id just keep an eye on parameters with a home test kit and you are good to go. 40 gallon a week is a good water change weekly could get away with less or more.
