These little plants have been sprouting up all over my tank. They’ll open and close. Any idea what they are and if they are bad? Good?

Can you get a more zoomed in pic? Or give more details on the description of these things? A part of me thinks they might be feateher dusters, as I used to have some until they mysteriously died. Definitely not because I accidentally knocked rocks over and crushed them while cleaning my tank.

Looking up feather dusters that’s got to be what they are! Thanks everyone! So they are good? How so??

That looks like feather dusters or apatisia. Feather dusters are great as they help will consuming nutrients out of the tank as well as an indicator for good water parameters. If you see these guys open and growing you’re doing right by your parameters. If they are closed it’s good chance your water could be off. If it’s apatisia or glass anemones they are pest and will grow fast and radically. You would want to eradicate them. You can do so by using products such as Apatisa X by Red Sea or putting super glue in them. They close up fast so your window is short once they feel something. Tube worms or feather dusters that are commonly occurring in new tanks are whiteish. Glass anemones or apatisa are brown and translucent in color. If you upload better pictures identifying the could be easier.

Feather dusters arent harmful, but dont really have much of a benefit besides looking cool. I mean they filter water, but not really enough to be noticable
