What are these? Could either of them have caused this Cristata to struggle as much as it did?

Cant exactly tel lfrom the pic. Is it red and kind of Brush like looking? I have some on a hammer and would be curious to what they are as well.

These feed on zoa

These are something called foraminifera. Not much info online. But common on euphyllia skeletons. They won’t bother anything. Dipping won’t remove as the have a calciferous skeleton.
