Great. Thankyou. Umm...in case I did not want to keep them....any advice on how to remove or as much as it does pain me to say...end them? While legit, more hype than anything else. Never had any issues with any type of palys over 20 years in the hobby. Just be smart when handling them outside the tank and you’ll be fine.
I mean should I leave them or....they weren't really what I wanted but to get these on some live rock in Newcastle NSW I was pretty stoked at first. The live rock around atm here is pretty basic and I must be a little old school as I did not want the dry rock fake coloured purple. I understand the benefit and in no way putting it down....just...for me...have to live rock even with all the headaches it can present with.Great. Thankyou. Yes definitely can remove. I've actually taken it out a few times in the past couple of weeks to remove some small area of valonia. I feel bad if I remove them but I just don't think I want them. Can you remove the rock they are on? If so, take the rock out and let it dry out. Then scrape off. This way, you don’t need to even deal with removing them while they are still wet and you can get squirted with their juices=toxins. Still wear gloves and mask/eye protection to be safe.
Im just thinking.....maybe I can stick that particular bit of rock in another small tank set up somewhere and let them be. Im pretty sure there may be a pistol shrimp or something that clicks in that bit anyway. Especially when the trochus is on the rock....click...clickYour tank, your call.
So the green is a Paly and the orange a Zoa? Sooo similar looking. This is exactly what I was wanting to know. There is also another...I'll post a picThe green button paly I would chisel off or remove some rock it's on with bone cutters.
The zoas I would keep - they are much safer and not nearly as invasive.
The green tip ones are actually anchored in a nook. Right down. I could chisel them off but would be taking a lot of the surrounding rock with them. The green button paly I would chisel off or remove some rock it's on with bone cutters.
