What’s that purple circle thing and those yellow brown spots?

The yellow/brown spots could be sponge. Can you get a clearer picture of the other?

Definitely sponge as well. Scrape them off then gently brush the area with a toothbrush. Rinse the frag in some tank water before placing it back in the tank. Sponges can smother frags at times if left unchecked.

Can I just remove them with a screwdriver or is there a better method?

Whatever is handy to scrape them. The majority should come off fairly easily. A razor blade works well.
