+1 pineapple sponges

.some common hitch hikers here for you

Agree. Little pineapple sponge.

As said before, harmless and typical in new tanks. Some may still be present as tanks age, but not usually as many as when it is newer.
My tank is over a year old... Got a new light and now have green hair algae and then these showed up

Could just be a bloom then, as the gha or something else may be feeding the pineapple sponges. They usually come and go with silicate being high or low. Why I mention them being common in new tanks.

I have some in my sump on my 6 year old tank, but I dose silicate for other sponges I have.
