Just wondering what y'all are dosing and why. Just trying to make sure I have everything covered. Right now I am dosing iodine, calcium, strontium and buffer when needed.

The basic rule when it comes to dosing anything is: Don't ever dose something you cant test for. Or don't test for.

The only thing that I dose on a regular basis is Cal, and Alk. Mag every so often as my water changes keep up with that. I have dosed for potassium and have a test kit for it, but didnt really see any reason to continue.

Curious why would you dose calcium without carbonate (alk)? Alkalinity is often a good surrogate measure of calcium so in general I would think it would make more sense to dose equal parts of calcium and alkalinity even if you are only testing for alkalinity assuming your mag is in check. When you say buffer I assume you are referring to some sort pH buffer that raises pH by raising the alkalinity or some sort of product like Kent super buffer dkh? If so why not just dose a balance two part solution?

I dose two part with a controller six time a day to keep my alk and pH stable and mag once a week or as needed. I have never found the need to dose anything else while performing regular water changes with a good salt mix. I dose because I have mostly sps with high demands.

Good advice right here! ^^^^^^^^

BRS 2-Part. 70mL per day of CAL and 60mL per day of ALK. This maintains these levels where I like to keep them. Dose 200mL of MAG every other week, opposite week of the WC. 10% WC every other week to help keep up the trace elements.

Kalkwasser is calc/alk all in one as well as ph buffer. Easy to use. Works best when used with vinegar.

Disadvantage is if u had tons of big sps colonies it might not keep up since you can only saturate 3tsp/gallon. But were talking a tank full of corals with very high demand. Basically at that point you would be using a calcium reactor.
