I have kept many species of finicky eating Anthias over the years including a group of Purple Queens for over three years. Cyclopeeze( if you can find it) , roe or live baby brine will usually trigger a feeding response....

Cyclopeeze and Nutra Mar Ova that you can't find these days. Got some Evansi anthias last night and trying to get them to eat. Have a stash of Nutra Mar ova, down to my last flat though.

Live baby brine works for the pickiest anthias. Cyclopeeze used to be the best frozen, but is no longer available. San Francisco Bay Brand Reef Plankton works well for me. Robiko and other fish roe is effective as well.

live black worms... any 'picky' fish I've purchased has gone bananas for live black worms. Cant miss there.

Since some of the foods mentioned seemed to be in scarce supply I wanted to mention we have a limited supply of recently harvested fish eggs in stock. These eggs were processed in-house, vacuum sealed and rapidly frozen to preserve the freshness. These have been lab tested for protein, fat, fiber and moisture as well as a complete fatty acid profile. I would think you would be hard pressed to find a frozen fish egg product with a nutritional profile comparable. Research facilities have been ordering these in bulk to supplement of broodstock diets for captive breeding. With a protein content of 23% and great DHA/EPA fat ratios this would be great food for Anthias.

In addition we distribute the new PE Calanus pod which has been very well received by the stores who have sold it. I didn't mean to insert a shameless plug (or two) but the reports of users getting finicky eaters to eat these two foods keep rolling in so I wanted to mention them as possible foods you can have at your disposal.

My Purple Queen (Tuka) anthias eat frozen mysis and frozen brine. I am trying to train her to eat crushed up pellet due to my traveling schedule, I need food through auto feeder.
Will Anthias eat live Amphipods?

Guess I'm just lucky and all my fish including Anthia's included eat just about anything I throw at them. The only exception is my female bimaculatus anthias. She is a pain and will only eat frozen mysis or live brine. I think just about any fish will eat live pods or plankton if they are present. Basically I have tangs, angels, wrasses, clowns and a few others. They get mysis, cyclops, occasional brine, nori and a variety of flakes and pellets. They all go crazy over plankton. I really got it for other things but the ESV dried marine phytoplanton basically is small flakes that expand in water and also has small particles that feed corals. Its not cyclopeeze but the frozen cyclops (brown not red) are pretty popular too. Think that's LRS brand. One of these days I will try the calanus too.

Thanks for mentioning this. I stalk these types of threads and am usually familiar with all the foods mentioned, but never heard of this one. Will definitely try this one out!

Where are you getting the phytoplankton flakes

I have a sunburst anthia in qt right now, he wouldn't eat when I first got him. He first started to eat frozen cyclops, then switched to baby brine, then regular brine and now he eats mysis and pellets.

I have 5 Lyretails Anthias that came in Wed. that are eating Tigger pods in the morning, cyclop-ese at noon and Hykari Mysis in the evening.
Day 4 of quarantine.

Well not sure anymore. I bought a bunch of stuff from saltysupply a while back and it may have been a closeout. That 1 ounce jar is still half full and had it probably over a year and a half.

Actually I was curious and looked and at least BRS and Amazon sell it.
