Well BRS has discontinued the 2 part I usually use so I'm looking for something else to get me by until I get the CAL RX together. What do you like that is pretty simple? The ESV looks pretty good, but I have never used it. Thanks

Where would you recommend obtaining? ThanksYou just mean the cheaper material was replaced with more expensive? The ingredients that BRS was selling for my DIY can be obtained elsewhere.
ESV B-ionic is a good choice, but will still likely be more expensive than BRS.

Thank you. I will look into that. I really want to switch to a cal RX.Which ingredient? BRS still sells them.
If it's just sodium carbonate you want, this is a good choice if you want a lot:

Thanks. I will check on this also. Do you keep Harry straight down there? LOLJust noticed you're from/in Pulaski TN. I'm in Huntsville, al. The industrial supplier is Brenntag here in Huntsville. The magnesium Chloride in shipped in from a Tennessee location and they don't charge for shipping. So you might want to look them up.
I actually was looking into this as it seemed pretty sweet. How does it compare to other 2 part solutions as in how much you add? I am currently at 35 ml each a day with the BRS. It is climbing pretty fast lately though.I am currently using B Ionic and am happy with it. It appears to have a reasonable ionic balance which hasn't been my experience with all two-part products. At the gallon size, each container is shipped partially full to save weight. You add RODI water to a line and shake to reconstitute. This is easy to do with the calcium component and takes just a few seconds, but the alk component typically has a large chunk of glacial precipitated carbonate at the bottom of the container that takes a good bit of vigorous shaking (several minutes at least) to fully dissolve. Putting the container under hot running water in the sink also speeds the process.

Thank you.B-ionic is more potent than my DIY (e.g., BRS), and requires about 65% as much.
ThanksMarine Depot has the ESV B-ionic product as a choice in their aquarium chemistry calculator if you want to compare.
Thanks. I am looking now.The concentration range is surprisingly broad. BRS is 1.9 meq/l; ESV B Ionic is 2.8 meq/l; Seachem Reef Fusion is 4.4 meq/l. So if you switched from BRS to ESV, you would use 68% as much to get the same dose.
LOL.LOL
Once at a local meeting I gave him what I thought was a bag of magnesium chloride. Turned out is was calcium chloride. Or vice versa. LOL
