What are your 2016 goals in this hobby?

As I sit here watching my tank I can't help but feel accomplished as 8 months ago it sit empty. I've come along way and know there's a long road ahead to get this exactly where I want it. For me these past 8-9 months have been a blast, from getting my eel, to having corals, to become addicted to wrasses, to having a mini disc golf basket in my tank. Those were from 2015.

A big thanks to those that have helped so far.

2016:
Continue to grow with my tank, add more coral, get what coral I have to multiply, get a leopard wrasse, add an ato and skimmer, catch the bully wrasse in my tank (top of list), get fish through qt that are there now.

Simple and achievable.

I'm at about the same point as you... Middle of 2015 I was in the planning stage, now I'm starting to stock a new 160 gallon reef tank.
My goals are similar too.. Would like to have my tank fully stocked and in "manicure" mode by end of 2016.

Just in the planning stage for an 80gal cube SPS tank, after 3+ years with no tank. 2016 gonna be a big year, and hopefully we can get a bun in the oven in the process!

I got 2 55g at peco $1/gallon. goal is to build stand, plumb then together with one a reef display and the other a planted/macro display refugium.

In 2016 I will be disease free. I have purchased multiple small tanks to do TTM into my 75g QT/holding tank. After qt period they will be moved to my 180g reef. I have a 40B that will be setup to QT corals, inverts, rock, etc. Nothing wet gets into the display with out a QT period.

I will continue the successes of my 180 SPS reef.

We're making a BIG move in 2016, so I'll be tearing down my reefs... after the move, I'm hoping it won't be long before we can buy a house, and then...400g+!!!

I will be setting up a 300 gal reef tank. Moving the 8 fish and all the coral over from my 75 gal that has bin up for 8 years. Will have to buy some more fish and coral to fill the new tank.

Breed clownfish and watch my reef mature. I set a BC 29 up as a reef after being in marine aquariums for many years. It's different.

New tank getting back into the hobby after ten years and starting over from scratch. Want clams not sure if it it is doable.

I just got a new 30 gallon tank I have to start from scratch its been 3 years since my first 90 gallon salt water tank I have a lot to learn its going to be a fun year setting up my tank thank you.

Make it through the year only spending $3000 on my aquarium habit. I only need more corals, and 2 more fish, so I got a good chance. But I already spent $550 this month alone, and it only the first day. So lets see how it goes.

Day 1 2016
1. Needed an additional light for tank. $170
2. Needed more test kits $50
3. Needed to order more copepods and phyto-- $60
4. Stocked up on extra Seachem 100ml bags of purigen, matrix carbon, Phosguard -- 3 each. $70
5. Decided to get a refractometer to replace hydrometer. $50
6. Paid my monthly $100 to aquarium maintenance company
7. $50 for a large rose tip bubble anemone, delivery sometime this month.

I forgot to add. I will be setting up my remote sump in the garage. It's a 100 gallon rubermaid and a frag tank!

Finish automating my 75g reef with ATO to avoid salinity variances, be patient and watch my Coral frags grow, and perhaps add a special fish once I figure out a good one to fit in with my current fish family. Most of all just continue to enjoy it!

I'm hoping to have my corals show growth, my tank has been up for about 6 months now and I haven't seen a large amount of growth yet.

fix my current tank it's a mess. if I have the money I will probably upgrade the light fixture to an LED one with a night mode to reduce the heat. I want to start spreading my dang coralline algae if it didn't die. I also want to change out my tank as it is a used 55gal glass tank and in okay shaped, has chips, rim is all screwed up and the seals and getting torn up. if I do this I would just build a sump. eventually when I get all that settled upgrade to a 80-100 gallon tank and understock it.
