What are your favorite fish for large tanks?

So... I'm looking at an upgrade, and the plan is around 225g (72" x 30" x 24"). I'm wondering what are your favorite fish for tanks this size?

My new fav large fish (totally underrated IMO) - Siganus lineatus, the gold-lined rabbitfish!

I’m a tang lover.

I currently have a naso, yellow, orange shoulder, and blue tang.

If limiting aggression wasn’t a concern, I would add a lieutenant and powder blue tang. I can technically add the Lieutenant, but it’s a risk with my orange shoulder tang.

Powder blues are just plain mean, so nope! But I think they look awesome. I like the coloration of powder blues over achillies.

Foxface, Kole Tang and Lawnmower Blenny. All have purpose and are either good personalities or/and pretty fish. Need the tank a bit older for any of these though. Need lots of grazing.

My 210g would not be the same without my pair of spotbreast angels. I love them, so a pair of those same genus angels (Lamark, Watanabe, etc). These guys like a lot of open swimming room.

Harlequin Tusk

If with coral:
Tangs
Rabbit fish
Moorish idol or heniocus butterfly trio (reef safe version)
Pyramid butterfly
Flame or Potters angel
Marine Betta
Flasher wrasse

Depends on if you’re adding corals or not .
Emperor angel , queen angel are my favourite .
Blue tang , orange shoulder tang
Yellow tang ,
Naso tang .

Nice! Passer Angel! Poor man's Clarion....imo! Besides that Purple Tang, Dejardini, and Sohol!

I’d highly recommend putting the moorish in the FOWLR section. This was the WORST fish in terms of reef safe based on my experience and reading many other’s.

I’d personally never add another moorish to a reef tank ever again.

Sounds like you posted just the thread I needed answers to! I misplaced all of my planned and researched fish list and was asking the same sorts of questions for that size tank lol. Appreciating seeing what people say. When I put all of my desired tangs in a list I came up to nine or so tangs which is obviously too much so I’ll have to trim. How many tangs do you think you can fit in those dimensions? I’d say a mid to large angel is a must So factoring that in?

Chrysurus Angelfish. They don't get super huge and can live their lives in a tank that size. Have had juvis max out in captivity at 7-8 inches. They are rare and keep their stripes and even people in the hobby are amazed when they see mine.

Watanabei Angelfish pair. Male and Female. Can also live their whole lives in a tank that size.

Larger wrasse are always good additions, as long as you do not mind losing some CUC here and there.

Cuban Hogs are fun in larger tanks of 200+. They are aggressive towards shrimp, but otherwise, I have always found them good fish for a reef. The red and yellow is nice. I just have to add new shrimp and make sure that they find the rocks. The Cubans leave snails, crabs and urchins alone.
