I'm upgrading to a 225g tank, and trying to decide on a sump. I definitely want one that will have a roller mat for filtration. What are your favorite roller mat sumps? Alternatively I'm OK with adding the roller filter to a sump that doesn't already come with one of that sump is superior to ones that have one included.

Ironic-
I just bought a 225gal tank and am looking for the exact same thing!
I was really excited about getting a Synergy Reef SK-72 or SK-60. The only reason I haven't ordered one yet is b/c they have the refugium chamber setup before the skimmer chamber. I know that's a preference thing and it can be debated to no end. I never had success using a refugium (chaeto) before the skimmer. I always had more success with the skimmer before the refugium. So that's the only reason I haven't bought one of the above sumps yet.

Very interested in other opinions as well. I'm definitely in the market for a roller mat sump for our size tank.

Just setting up a Trigger System Platinum on my 225. I think it all depends on what you are expecting to put down there. Has a moveable inner wall, so you can do what you want.

I like my Trigger Platinum 44 so far
did you glue the last connections from the returns into the sump are just everything up to that point? Seems like the pipe going into the Trigger System connection should just stay by force of the tubing itself, this way if I have to move sump for some reason can just pop off without having to get a new connector. I don't have the space to put a union right at the last connection. What did you do?

I don't hard plumb anything to my sumps.

I removed the Trigger piece that you're supposed to connect the plumbing to and just dropped my main drain right into that section

Did you find anything that fit the criteria?

I’m thinking about getting a Bashsea and just add a Red Sea filter roller

Im using a trigger ruby sump with a drop in bubble magus roller and my previous tank was a advanced acrylics sump with a open 1st chamber.

I figured if the roller didnt with the advanced sump I could go back to socks or a media cup with a sock holder that hangs off the rim.

Current trigger sump I had to shave the hooks the bubble magus hangs on to get it in, otherwise it is unmodified.

After six months with the trigger 34 platinum, I can definitively say I will be replacing the entire sump with something different at the first sign of hardware failure on this thing. The replacement fleece rolls are the most aggravating thing to swap out...

Is that because the roller mat on the end, making it hard to access from the front? Or just difficult to maneuver and replace the rolls in general?
