I've seen quite a few Bio Blocks on Amazon. They appear to be basically the same thing as many other name brand bio blocks.
They are ceramic blocks just like name brand ones.
They come in blocks, bricks, balls...

I wonder if these work just as well as the name brand ones.
I really can't see a reason for them to not work just as well as the name brand ones for a fraction of the price.

What are YOUR thoughts???

I was thinking of ordering one of these products myself. I am interested to see what some people think that have used them.

Thanks for posting this thread. lol

I’ve used them in the past and won’t in the future. Did not see a major upside. It felt like they clogged quickly with time. I’ve just gone back to extra rock in my rear sump with the last build. Dr Tim also recently talked about the fact that you really need exposed surfaces not porous ones. I would agree with that simply from anecdotal evidence. I can also say that the two times I used them I had difficulty with mushrooms and ricordea in the tank. The ceramics do contain aluminum, so it might have been the cause -but again it might not have. Each tank has its own challenges and it might have just been happenstance that I had two in a row.
