My friend is selling FujiFilm S2 for 75 bucks. Im planning to use to take few shot of the tanks and nature and animals and people wonder if this would be good? if so what would you recommend on the lens for macro shot. this unit is only 4 years old in great shape. I'm a rookie. I'm planning on getting the nikon rebel but i don't want to spend buttload of money if i can't use it right. thanks for the input.

what is film? lol You don't need an expensive camera to take great pictures. And the Rebel is a canon (offends Nikon guys) :)

If I remember correctly, this camera can use the Nikkor lenses. If it works good, $75 is an excellent price. Gets you into the game, pretty darn cheap. My favorite lens for shooting fish in glass boxes is Nikkor Micro 105mm.

What do you like about it?

nikon rebel

:sure: :hammer:

I have 3 micro (macro) lenses, 60mm, 105mm and 200mm. The 105mm is my go to. It has a fairly quick focus speed and gets me close to my subjects (most of the fish I shoot are 4" or less in length). The 60mm is good for larger subjects, but I notice it has more trouble getting and keeping focus on a subject (might just be my particular unit though, it is first generation). The 200mm is manual focus only and I mainly use it on stationary objects. I have shot in both manual and auto focus modes. You can generally get better results with manual focus, but for me auto focus is "good enough". In auto focus, the 105mm just performs better. I laughed when I saw Nikon Rebel, because Canon is now producing a D series of cameras.
