What are your top tips for keeping mushroom corals?

What would you give a tips for someone new to mushroom corals? What are the important things they should pay attention to? Acclimation tips? Care instructions?

Low light, low flow, target feed them if you want them to spread fast.

Placement is important
Moderate light and water flow and occasional feeding of mysis shrimp.
Too much water flow and they’ll stress and dislodge themselves

Depends on a few things, but in my experience they prefer low flow and medium light. My ricordea yuma and discosomas actually look their best higher up on the rocks.

I have one high that has had 4 babies
I have 2 low. One has spread but no babies and one that just is as I got it.

Research the type you have/want. My experience with Rhodactis (neon green variety) and Discosoma (orange) are like night and day.

I know now to keep my Rhodactis off of the rocks and actually prefer to put them in a marginal position to control their population. Just a couple in a dark corner of the tank is fine. Mine are fairly happy right on the sand. Others look really cool on the lower portion of the back glass. Just lean one against it and it will eventually grab on and slowly climb up. Give them a moderate amount of light and they reproduce like crazy. This variety of Rhodactis can quickly take over a rock and grow over and kill other corals (although they didn't seem to bother a purple frilly gorgonian). I never feed them. Food will fall on them by accident as I feed the fish.

I don't mind at all having Discosoma on my rocks. They reproduce much more slowly and tend to just pop up in new places anyway. So far there has been no conflict with other corals. Again, more light = more reproduction, but not at the same scale as Rhodactis. They have different methods of asexual reporoduction. Rhodactis splits itself in two at the mouth (binary fission), whereas Discosoma tears off and leaves behind a piece of its foot as it crawls across the rock (pedal laceration), which is a much slower process.

Does anyone know a good method to get mushrooms off rocks? I had an isolated rock and now they're showing up everywhere. I've tried chiseling them off but some are in hard places to get (all rock is glued into one big piece), and often pieces get left behind and float around in the tank eventually settling somewhere else. I've tried injecting with vinegar but noticed negative effects on other corals, possibly some toxins being released? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I've heard aiming a powerhead at the base of them works - they get grumpy and let go, lol. Haven't tried it yet, but I need to move one this weekend so I'll let ya knowvif that works!
