I have 8 bulb T5, and I am looking for a good combination choice to replace the bulbs.
What bulb combination should I get

What lighting did you have before over the tank? Was the color pleasing to your eyes? What corals are you keeping under the lighting? What size fixture are you looking for bulbs for and what are your tank dimensions?

I'd start ;Bookworm what your corals need. High light white? Low light blues?

At least he's already narrowed it down to an 8-bulb T5 so the LED/MH/T5 debate isn't required.Sorta like my wife asking me which purse I like for her to buy....
You got T5, LED and MH to choose from.

ATI has a chart with suggestions for bulb combo's . There are 3 categories one white with hint of blue, with white blue & blue with some white. !st time I chose the mid range THis time I chose the bluest selection & like it .
Just way too many suggestion to ever decide . I just use the ATI suggestion.

I just filled an 8 bulb fixture with the following combination:
4x Blue +
3x True Actinic
1x Purple +
I really am liking the combination. I have a power module so I can balance out the blue a bit if I wanted to, but just the t5s alone it is a great combination. It's aqua/blue/white with a ton of pop.

I'd also get a 2nd set of sun tanning T5 bulbs so your wife can use is as a tanning bed during the tanks lights off periods
Put the fixture on a swing out arm so she can lay on the floor in front of the tank
She'll love it and allow you to buy more coral
