I just got a mini cal

I agree with everything that FarmerTy wrote. I had been using an MTC Procal for over 10 years, it still worked just as good as it did when I bought it. If you are looking for a reactor I would absolutely give them some serious thought.

Ditto.

I've always loved the look of the Korallen Zucht reactors and I've heard great reviews. The second internal chamber is a nice feature. Of course GEO is pretty much the go-to for the price range and overall quality, but then again, the BRS video on the Vertex makes it look pretty tempting... decisions

God, those DaStaCo look and seem to work great but god dang they are expensive!

The Vertex seems to be of good quality and work well but I wish they had one a bit larger.

I've really enjoyed my Geo so far. Haven't had it very long yet. If I had the space and demand id go with a MTC pro cal on anything in the 120-300 gallon range probably

What makes you guys love your geo's? Seems to be a large group of people that like them.

Reliable and bulletproof. Built like a tank compared to ny first couple reactors it replaced.

Well I don't have experience with any other units, but the overall build quality and acrylic work seems top notch on my Geo. Good price as well. I'm sure most are built well but the Geo components and assembly are about as high quality as is on the market. MTC, MRC, and probably the vertex are right there as well in quality, but each have their setbacks. He MRC and MTC reactors have much larger footprints. If you can fit one of those dual chamber reactors that would be nice. I personally wanted an MTC. I've never read a single negative review, and in the 100-300 gallon range the MTC Pro Cal is basically the gold standard of calcium reactors. The Vertex looks really nice but for its size and capacity, it is overpriced. You're paying for the brand name. I love the Geo because it can hold 12 pounds of media and has a very large capacity, but a small footprint being a single chamber reactor so that was my deciding factor. I couldn't fit the larger dual chamber reactors, and didn't want to pay a comparable amount for say...a reef octopus, which has a smaller reaction chamber, and a cheaper pump. Hope that helps
