Been cycling the tank since the beginning of July, so about 6 weeks. Used MicroBactor7. Due to vacation plans, I’m not going to be able to add fish until early October. Is there anything I could add now, or before October? Pods or a few CUC members? Shrimp? Thanks!!!

Clean up crew would be my recommendation. Not much feeding required for them and it will add life to your tank.

Where exactly are you at in the cycle ? What I mean by that is What are your no2 ( nitrite) no3 (nitrate) at .. have you had a diatom bloom?have you got algae growing already ..

Maybe a few snails... if you keep snails, beware of crabs. They will eat them if they get big enough that they need new shells. If you get shrimp I would recommend small species. A peppermint would do. My cleaner is really big and dances on my corals. You could also add some sort of Goby. Fun to watch. Low maintenance.

I’m guessing you started with dry rock and live sand .. and just over half way through your cycle.. if your nitrite reads zero you should be ready for your CUC.. as you probably have some algae growing by now ..

Not positive. The LFS said to bring in a water sample to confirm cycle and only to buy test kits for nitrate, phosphate and alkalinity. I have not taken a sample in yet but figure the tank is probably cycled. The nitrate was 1 on 8/01 and 2.5 yesterday. I ghost feed a small pinch of flake food once a week or so. The tank is not lit as I have not hung my lights yet. No diatom bloom or algae growth yet.

Dry rock(pukani) and dry sand. The LFS said it would take 3 to 4 weeks using the MicroBacter7. I’m 6 weeks in. Yesterday’s nitrate reading was 2.5.
