A few good bumps/ blasts with a turkey baster (the reef multitool) in my opinion should remove anything thats recent.

I wouldn't touch it... Gonioporas are tricky to begin with. Assuming lighting & parameters are up to par just let nature take it's course. GL.

I’ve been leaving it alone but the snails won’t touch it and am nervous to try to scrap the sides with no flesh I dunno

Normally i would suggest a toothbrush in a 5g bucket with some tank water but that is imo a fragile coral.

If you have an emerald crab they clean up all my frags including my goni’s.
