Please nothing complicated. I'm new to reefs but very experienced with aquatics. I know I can grow Zoas, Palyps, and Shrooms, but is there anything else? I want something that sorta has the anemone look to it. What about some Ric or Anthelia? This is for a 10gal nano with only 1 clown living in it besides the live rock. Also, once I "plant" the coral in my tank, what exactly am I suppose to do with it then?

I want something movement and some zoas. I haven't bought the bulb yet, what spectrum do you recommend I get? I have a basic 10gal tank, nothing special.

belive it or not there is allot of 10G pico tanks out there that are hot. I would go LED if i were you, dont get that 1bulb T5. its no good IMO.

This is probably a stupid question but can I buy an LED bulb or do I have to get a new fixture?

With a 10 gallon tank you don't really need a very powerful light. T5s should be more than enough for soft and lps. I don't have any experience with sps, so I can't help there. I would look into an led fixture as the others have suggested.

With that said, I would recommend these corals...

Hammer
Frogspawn
Xenia
Green star polyps
Torch (most similar to an anemone)
Kenya tree
Colt

rapid led and peice it together! im thinking about the same thing, when i get back to the states gonna try a 5 gal zoa garden project and gonna peice a led light together. just not sure how many yet, all that power for a 5 gal i got to be careful though of to much light and bleaching! my daughter loves zoas and want to make it for her, but be aware that i will be maintaining it lol.

but for the question about t-5 i think it is a great beginer light for any coral you want! i have kept and grown under t-5 everything ive brought from softies to sps. just the question if one is made for a small tank idk. but i would always go with ati bulbs which ino always did the best for me!!!

good luck with your research wish could be more of help!

When I talked with tony vargas, he told me moat the nicest European reefs he had seen are t5 lit. You can grow anything from macro to clams.

What would you recommend for a 75gal? I'm probably going to upgrade my tank before I start my reef. First I wasn't sure if I was going to start the reef in my 10gal then upgrade or upgrade then start the reef. I guess upgrading first would make the most sense. Anyway.....I'll probably want to add some zoa, mushrooms, torches, and maybe a clam. What type of lighting should I have?
