What can I use to glue corals down?

I have a monti cap that is doing great and is now light acclimated. I want to move it to a permanent spot. I used jb weld water weld to put my aquascape together. Can I use this to mount the coral or do I need to go buy some super glue gel? Thanks in advance!

You can use the JB WaterWeld if you like. Depending on the size of the piece though, the angle in which you plan on mounting it etc, sometimes the glue works much better. Put it this way, it's always nice to have on hand.

Cloak thanks for your help! I'll try the putty but I'll buy some gel to have on hand before I try mounting it.

Just apply a dab of superglue to both sides of the epoxy before you mount the coral. This will definitely make the bond more secure, but it's not always needed.

I've had great luck with just plain old super glue gel....here are the Montipora frags I mounted on plugs with superglue only:

And some chalice frags I also mounted with super glue gel:

Knead the putty to one color then put a little super glue gel on the putty and then press onto your frag. Then put another dab of super glue gel on the putty and put it onto your rock.

Never heard of using JB Waterweld. What are the advantages over regular super glue?

Used the gel no putty. It worked but I think my nine year old could've done a cleaner job lol. I got gel all over the coral at the point of contact. Is this gonna be a problem? Other than it looks sloppy.

When that breaks off, use in this order super glue gel small ball of expoxy super glue gel.

Do I really need to wait till breaks off? Lol. So just stick the tube of glue in there and put some glue on it than smear a ball of epoxy over it? Copy that. Thanks

Don't do it under water. Take the coral out then use the coral-glue-epoxy-glue-rock technique described above. All of my rockwork is held in place with this method. The glue provided the stick while the epoxy allows you to smash the glue into crevices.

Thanks, no I didn't do that I just rolled up a ball of epoxy put a dab of glue on it and reinforced what I had already glued. My sense of humor doesn't always translate in text, sorry
