Just wondering, like how acros brown out, if a chalicestarts from colorful and then starts to brown out what is the cause of this effect? is it too much phosphate or too much light? Just curious as a long time ago i had a old Bazooka frag die from browning out.

They can brown out from too little light. With too much light there usually is bleaching.

Check out this one on the right. Its been in low light and I would consider it browned out.

+1^

and why not check out the chalice on the left Kris?

Hahahahaha you guys caught me. Its the OMG chalice! Its in the same low light but doing well. Just goes to show you there is no general low light or high light rule written in stone, its all relative to the chalice.

Ive never heard of that one Kris!

It originated from Aquatic Gallery. I contacted them years ago and couldn't get it. Then I heard WWC got some of it. I was able to get my frag from Hung at BayCorals who got it from WWC. Hung is an awesome dude! Thanks man!!!

Rings a bell know! haha! I know what your talking about now!

In the past I remembered it being more red. Mine is neon green with orange dots :) I'm so happy its doing well. I got it smaller than a pencil eraser. Its doubled in size in a few months :)

With my ORA Blue Chalice i had it close to the top and it started turning brown. I moved it to the middle and all the color has come back. Im using LEDS hope that helps alittle. Good luck:wink:
