What causes chalices to show bruises overnight?

I have chalices and zoas in same tank. Zoas are healthy and chalices show bruises overnight. I did a 60% water change and bruises continued. I have since removed them to a different tank and all are recovering. I was wondering what caused them to show bruises. I tested Alk, Cal, and Mag. and nothing is out of range. Any help would be appreciated.

How close were the chalices to the zoas? Could be chemical warfare.

Zoas never touched them. They have been in zoa tank for months and opened/grew like crazy. I did a huge water change thinking I may have overdosed Vibrance and STRONTIUM & MOLYBDENUM, but this bubblegum showed bruises 2 days after water change.

If you see evidence of such events, I urge you to call your local LFS and report it.

Sorry, couldn't help it. I've never heard of "bruises" on corals and cannot tell from the picture.

The tissue in some spots are darken almost turning into black. I am raising Mag. to at least 1400 and run a bit carbon to remove any toxins. It is odd that all zoas look fine and chalices are not.
