This was from an ICP test a few weeks ago.

Where could it have originated from?

I use EVS 2 part and mag.

Occasionally Pickle Lime/kalc drip @ night.

Very Sparingly Red Sea trace elements ABCD

How would Corals react to that elevation of Bromine?

Thanks.

These were pulled from scientific papers on the web

Seawater contains approximately 65 ppm bromine.

Bromide concentrations in seawater range from 65 mg/l to well over 80 mg/l, in freshwater from trace amounts to about 0.5 mg/l.

Randy, that's what I was afraid of.

Hey @Randy Holmes-Farley just got back mine as well ATI ICP. Mentioning my Bromine is low. I want to buy and make my own trace element for Bromine. Any suggestion on what I need to purchase?

It's hard to get good purity sodium bromide cheap. The ESV product might be a good choice.

There a lot of spa and hot tub sodium bromide around, but of uncertain purity.

This is good:

Hey @Randy Holmes-Farley, I did already have some from the stuff that I ordered. I posted about it in the DIY elements thread here: https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/icp-test-diy-elements-going-mad-scientist.708864/post-7378757

Figure that would be best place to get any help that you guys would provide to try to keep them all in one thread if possible for others going through the same process.

Any suggestion on mixing for 1 liter of water?

The concentration makes no difference. It is quite soluble. It is 77% bromide by weight, so 1 mg has 0.77 mg bromide, and will raise 1 L by 0.77 mg/l = ppm.
