Just a normal part of the tank cycle. Algae feeds on PO4 and NO3. If there is any in the system, It can grow (and you want some levels for NO3 and PO4). Don’t stress too much unless it gets out of control. All tanks have some form of algae. If it gets to be too much, check NO3 and PO4, reduce if necessary and add a CUC. It should keep it at bay.

I was getting my PO4 up for my acros and this started growing, I’ll just ride it out and see what happens thanks!

FYI my tank is 18 months old, runs NO3 at 5-10 and PO4 at 0.10-0.15. Its. A higher nutrient system but I have good coral growth and minimal algae. My NO3 bottomed out a few weeks back and I had some issues with dinos. So don’t let the system get too low. Figure out your tanks happy spot and accept that there will be some algae no matter what you do.

Okay, my tanks been running roughly 14 months now, I usually have my PO4 around 0.05-0.07 and everything seems really happy there. Really good pe at those levels. I’ll have to accept it lol.
